Keynote Speakers

Addressing Question One: What are the outcomes of LBP, and how do they inter-relate?

Mansel Aylward,

Director of the Unum Centre for Psychosocial and Disability Research (CPDR) at Cardiff University, will talk about relationships among outcomes of LBP, describing events and models.


Addressing Question Two: What factors are related to outcomes?

Chris Maher,
Director of Musculoskeletal Division, George Institute for International Health, University of Sydney, will discuss factors that are related to outcome, with an emphasis on current research on risk factors, co morbidities, and subgroups.


Addressing Question Three: How can we improve outcomes?

Robert Drake,
Professor of Psychiatry and of Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth College and Director of the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center, will speak about improving outcomes, focusing on lessons that can be learned from other disciplines.


Addressing Question Four: How can we translate research to practice?

Peter Croft,
Director of the Primary Care Musculoskeletal Research Centre at Keele University Medical School, will talk about meeting the challenge of translating research to practice.
